About
No! This isn’t a site for fans of Really Simple Syndication! Though developers are more than welcome to read on…
This web site is for people with the restricted growth condition Russell Silver Syndrome (RSS – see the connection!) / Silver Russell Syndrome (SRS). The definition usually depends which side of the great pond you live on. Check back regularly for updates, news and various projects regarding being ‘small’, though anyone who knows a RSS-er would hardly describe us as so!
The aim of RSS-People is to share information for living day-to-day with the syndrome and to help cultivate the community for adults with this medical condition.
The website has undergone a new lease of life in 2011 when a new Internet support group for RSS adults and teens sprouted up on Facebook and has taken on this new direction.
Meet The Team
Website Editor: Steph
Steph is the creator of this online presence for adults with Russell Silver Syndrome. She founded the RSS-People support group on YahooGroups! back in 1999 in response to the lack of support for adults with RSS and in the quest to connect with others with the syndrome. The name of that group inspired the title of this website back in 2006 as a place for Steph to vent her frustrations and share her own life experiences of living with RSS.
Steph is a 30-something RSS-er from the UK, who stands at 4ft 4″, is a certified web geek who freelances in creating and planning content for websites, works part-time in a library and is addicted to chocolate (can’t blame that one on the RSS).
Contributor/Researcher: Kim T
Kim T, stands at 4ft 3″, lives in Scotland and blogs as Lady Thumbelina. She established the Teen and Adults Russell Silver Syndrome support group on Facebook in early 2011. Kim also contributes and researches articles for the RSS-People website.
